Why TorahRooted.com?

REF: TR2EN

The name Torah Rooted was chosen very intentionally.

It reflects a simple but foundational truth: everything in Scripture is rooted in the Torah.

What does “Torah” mean?

The Torah refers to the first five books of the Bible:

  • Genesis
  • Exodus
  • Leviticus
  • Numbers
  • Deuteronomy

The Hebrew word Torah (תּוֹרָה – Torah) means instruction, teaching, or guidance. It is not merely “law” in a legal sense, but the foundation of how God revealed His will to His people.

The Torah as the foundation of all Scripture

From the very beginning, God established His instructions through the Torah. Everything that follows in Scripture builds on that foundation.

The prophets continually called the people back to it:

“Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers…”
— 2 Kings 17:13

Yeshua Himself confirmed its ongoing importance:

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.”
— Matthew 5:17

And He made it clear that the entire message of Scripture depends on it:

“On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
— Matthew 22:40

Even the apostles taught in alignment with this foundation:

“Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”
— Romans 3:31

What does it mean to be “rooted” in the Torah?

To be rooted in the Torah means to understand that God’s instructions are the starting point, not an optional addition.

It means:

  • Reading all Scripture in light of what God established from the beginning
  • Recognizing that the New Testament does not replace the Torah, but confirms it
  • Aligning our understanding with the same foundation used by Moses, the prophets, Yeshua, and the apostles

As Scripture says:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16

When this was written, “Scripture” referred to what we now call the Old Testament—centered on the Torah.

Why this matters

Without the Torah, the rest of the Bible loses its context.

The promises, the prophecies, the teachings of Yeshua, and the writings of the apostles all point back to what God established from the beginning.

Being Torah Rooted is about returning to that foundation—so that everything else can be understood clearly, consistently, and as originally intended.
